Wrestling Review: NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable (2015)

+ Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch: this women’s championship match was far and away the match of the night. I am a huge fan of the way that the women are actually given a chance to shine on NXT, and it is matches like this that prove that giving Divas a chance is very worthwhile
+ Tyler Breeze vs Finn Balor: a new entrance for Balor, and a grand entrance for Breeze was a sign that this match would be good, and it was. Perhaps not as good as if it were the triple threat as originally scheduled, but these two put on a hell of a show

– Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn: one crazy awesome moment, and otherwise a slightly above average, but perhaps nothing special match. Much too similar to what we have seen before, and not an ideal way to end what was being touted as the biggest NXT event so far. It makes sense from a story standpoint, but in that case perhaps a different match should have ended the show
– Baron Corbin vs Rhyno: as good as Rhyno is, and as much as Corbin has improved, Corbin is just not good enough yet to put on a solid match. Sloppy and slow, but hopefully Corbin will keep getting better
– Blake/Murphy vs Enzo Amore/Big Cass: the match was pretty average, and a silly ending only added to the confusion, rather than getting a definitive ending for these teams. I assume there will be more matches down the line, and hopefully they can add some new things to their matches
– Dana Brooke/Emma vs Bayley/Charlotte: each of Emma, Charlotte and Bayley deserve more than being paired with (the incredibly new, undeveloped and sloppy) Dana Brooke, but I suppose this was the best way to keep them all on screen somehow. Bayley is going to be absolutely huge on the main WWE roster, I guarantee it

> Hideo Itami was taken out of the opening Balor/Breeze match, and I think in some ways that must have affected the match and outcome.

Should you watch this event: This event was always built around one match, between Owens/Zayn, but it was the women’s title match that you will want to see. The rest is hit or miss, and all are place holders in many ways, but do anything you can to see the divas put on what may be the match of the year.
